Malindi MP was accused of killing a man during the Ganda Ward by-election that took place on October 29, 2019. The recent ballistic report, however, indicated that she did not shoot the man.
Jumwa’s defense team is pushing the DPP to throw out the case and clear her name of the murder case. This report has implicated her bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno Okuto in the shooting. He used to accompany Jumwa in all events which brought up the rumors of them being lovers.
Jumwa has asked the Mombasa court to immediately withdraw the legal services she had hired for her bodyguard. She also asked the court to cancel the bond which her daughter had stood in surety of Okuto leaving her bodyguard/lover stranded.
