Kitui County Governor, Charity Kaluki Ngilu, has urged the Ukambani electorate to boycott Deputy President William Ruto’s political meetings in the region.
Ngilu, who spoke on Friday, accused the second in command of being disrespectful to other leaders who are not supporting his presidential bid, an act she highly condemned.
She said Ruto has been publicly hurling insults to his opponents whenever he takes his political rallies to the Ukambani region, adding that people should not tolerate such behavior.
She stated the region’s electorates are free to attend Ruto’s meetings but urged them to always spit saliva on him and walk out of the rallies if he starts attacking his opponents in the region.
“Whoever will hear this guy (Ruto) bringing his insults in this region, just spit saliva to him and leave his rally”, Ngilu stated.
Ngilu, together with governors Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Alfred Mutua (Machakos), are supporting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in August.
