A lorry was today morning intercepted by police on patrol from Mandera to Wajir town carrying contraband goods worth ksh6.2M.

The occupants were Abdikarim Diriye Ahmed Adam who was the driver, Mohammed Issack Aden from Mandera and a Wajir town shop owner Abdi Kusow Mohammed.
Since they didn’t have and supporting documents to show where they bought the items from, a multi-agency team through the advice of KRA declared the goods as contraband to be destroyed.

Some of the good seized during the operation include a bale of sandals, boxes of torch and matchsticks, mosquito repellants, skin creams, boxes, bales of clothing and football, sacks of Tangawizi and peanuts etc.
The goods was burnt at Wajir dump site.
