Sabina Chege’s treason as a nominated Member of Parliament has now come up with her.

This comes after Raila Odinga’s Azimio petitioned Speaker Moses Wetangula to remove her as Deputy Minority Whip in the National Assembly following her defection to President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Chege’s lawsuit in a Kiambu Court challenging Raila Odinga’s Azimio’s decision to remove her from the office was dismissed yesterday.

As a result, Mark Muriithi Mwenje, MP for Embakasi West, is expected to become the next Depurity Minority Whip in the 13th Parliament.

The Jubilee Party has been embroiled in a protracted legal struggle over leadership, with the Chege-led faction vying for control of the party and its millions of dollars.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has suggested that he would not abandon the party, preserving his loyalists in critical positions after the rift with Chege and Kanini Kega group, who have subsequently gone to work with Kenya Kwanza.

Azimio attempted to replace Chege on May 4, but Wetangula ruled that the coalition had failed to provide an alternative.

Azimio then nominated the Embakasi West MP, but Chege, through her lawyer Dennis Kivuti, filed a legal challenge to her removal.

Following that verdict, Speaker Wetangula declared that Chege would continue executing her duties until the courts pronounced itself on the subject.

Chege had implored Ruto and his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, to help her maintain the seat, but they were unable to do so.
