Cleophas Malala, the UDA Secretary General, is under siege and might be ejected from the party at any time.
This was disclosed by Didmus Barasa, a Kimilili Member of Parliament, who accused Malala of being ODM Leader Raila Odinga’s mole in the UDA.
In an interview, Barasa encouraged President William Ruto to fire Malala immediately because he is up to no good.
The lawmaker revealed details on the feud between Malala and several prominent members of Ruto’s party, including Deputy Speaker Gladys Shollei.
He accused Malala of doing Raila’s bidding by pressuring Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Speaker Moses Wetangula to abandon their rural parties and join the UDA.
Barasa claimed that his activities were fracturing the Kenya Kwanza group at a time when Kenyans were doubting the Ruto administration’s performance.
Furthermore, Barasa stated that the UDA recruitment membership campaigns have become chaotic in recent months as a result of Malala.
The congressman added that the party had seen little growth in membership due to the SG’s failure in this area.
He went on to say that the SG had failed to defend the government agenda against opposition leaders who, he said, knew how to play their cards, particularly during the Finance Act discussion.
“I’ve never seen Cleophas Malala respond to what Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has said.” Sifuna is a very good individual when it comes to knowing the role that comes with being ODM SG.”
“He is a young lawyer who is quite articulate. “He has made us feel as if we don’t have an SG,” he said.
