Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has cautioned Mt. Kenya and former President Uhuru Kenyatta to brace themselves for the worst if President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga reach an agreement.
Wamuchomba threatened the Mt Kenya region in a statement that if the transaction goes through, they will be left alone.
According to her, the continuing bipartisan discussions at Kenya’s Bomas would result in a handshake agreement between Ruto and Raila Odinga.
“All of the issues being discussed in the dialogue committee led by MP Kimani Ichung’wah will not help us in any way.” “Nothing will come out of that meeting except a Handshake agreement between Raila and Ruto,” she said.
According to Wamuchomba, the bipartisan discussions have already excluded the Mt Kenya region, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta will be excluded if Raila and Ruto reach an agreement.
Wamuchomba observes that, despite Ruto’s assurances to the Mt Kenya area that he will not allow Raila into his cabinet, there is a chance that he will follow Uhuru’s lead after the 2018 elections.
“We kept asking Uhuru for more details about their discussions, but he kept saying he won’t let Raila into his government.” “That is the path Ruto is taking us down because he has stated that he will not allow Raila into his administration,” she explained.
