Martha Karua, chairperson of Narc Kenya, has slammed the National Dialogue Committee (NDC) for neglecting to address the most pressing concerns confronting Kenyans.
The NDC, led by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Kikuyu member of Parliament Kimani Ichung’wah, has agreed on only two things: addressing the two-thirds issue and establishing positions of Prime Minister and official opposition leader.
The committee has failed to address the major reason for the committee’s existence, which was the high expense of living.
Karua attacked the committee on social media on Friday for ignoring the high cost of living and the issue of electoral justice, both of which the group was appointed to address.
“Top of the agenda was and is the cost of living and Electoral justice,” he stated.
If the office of opposition leader is created, Raila Odinga will inevitably fill it because he is the party leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which has the most legislators after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
