BABU OWINO’s goal to become Nairobi Governor suffers a major setback as RAILA ODINGA declares his preferred candidate for 2027 – SAKAJA is leaving.

Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, has lost his bid to become governor of Nairobi in 2027 after the Azimio One Kenya Alliance’s Raila Odinga endorsed another candidate.

Raila Odinga, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, announced on Saturday that his party has selected Westlands Member of Parliament Timothy Wanyonyi as the guy who will fly the Azimio flag in Nairobi in 2027.

Raila has stated his support for Wanyonyi as Governor Johnson Sakaja’s replacement in City Hall in the upcoming election cycle.

During the 2022 election, Wanyonyi expressed interest in running for governor but was advised to abandon his plans in order to avoid a split of Azimio votes.

Baba’s endorsement of Wanyonyi is a major setback for Babu Owino, who has also proclaimed his intention to unseat Sakaja in 2027.
