Moses Kuria, the cabinet secretary for public services, is ecstatic that Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has survived an impeachment attempt.
Kuria had taken it upon himself to stand up for Mwangaza, claiming that the MCAs’ impeachment motion was unjustified by the charges.
Because of his position, the CS had disagreements with several senators, some of whom even demanded that he be removed from office without cause.
Kuria accompanied the governor and other officials in celebrating her achievement as soon as the senators voted in favor of her.
“The devil prevails in wars. Kuria, who was celebrating with the governor, wrote on Twitter, “The Lord wins the war.”
Following a decision by 59 out of 69 Meru Members of the County Assembly to remove Mwangaza, she was put on trial in front of the entire Senate.
The majority of senators opposed her impeachment on all seven accusations, including the unlawful renaming of a public road in her husband Baichu Murega’s honor, who loved guitars.
