Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, has been chastised by Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei for tying former President Uhuru Kenyatta to the bad state of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Travelers were recently forced to endure poor weather conditions at an airport whose roofs were leaking due to the country’s severe rainfall.
While blaming former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration, Murkomen emphasized that the situation was an inherited mess from the latter’s administration.
“When we arrived at the office, we discovered that the previous regime’s projects were subpar.”
“The temporary renovation was done on Terminals 1C and E because an in-field project was required, which was costly.”
“But we have spoken with the contractors about redoing the job,” Murkomen said.
Cherargei, on the other hand, called Murkomen an idiot for blaming former President Uhuru Kenyatta for JKIA’s deplorable status.
Cherargei questioned what the CS had been up to in his last year in office.
“Lol, it takes a whole year to fix a leaking terminal roof in JKIA, then kumbe our roads in Nandi County will NOT be fixed, this is the highest incompetence and lethargy of CS Murkomen, who called me a fool a week ago.”
“Kenyans can now tell who is a fool.” “It wasn’t me?” wrote Cherargei on his X page.
