City lawyer and politician Karen Nyamu has announced that she will be running for the Nairobi County Senatorial seat in the 2022 General Election under a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.

Nyamu was officially welcomed into UDA on Monday by party leader William Ruto at his Karen residence.

“I was honored to be officially welcomed by the UDA party to contest for Senator Position in Nairobi county 2022,” Nyamu wrote in a tweet shared on Monday.

“We fully support Dr William Samoei Ruto’s vision to change our economic model in the interest of Kenyans,” she added.

Nyamu ran for the Nairobi Woman representative seat in 2017 under a Jubilee Party ticket but lost to Rachel Shebesh.

Others who were welcomed to UDA on Monday are East African Legislative Assembly MP Simon Mbugua and lawyer Nelson Havi, who attended his first meeting since joining the camp last week.

Havi will be running for the Westlands parliamentary seat.
