Kenya Defence Forces recruitment team has today unfolded a corruption scheme at Manga Stadium, Manga sub-county in Nyamira County. Mr Nicholas Kibeni the serial conman was discovered following a drama which ensued at the gate when one Kinaro Kimaiga Ndubi declined to be screened by security personnel at the gate and alleged that he had the vital document to gain access at the recruitment stadium.

Upon interrogation he said that he had brought his nephew, Enoch Choti Kinaro, for the KDF recruitment. He also confessed that yesterday, he was approached by Mr. Nicholas Kibeni of Mobile no. (0733404284/0723142078) who hails from the area and that he would help his nephew secure the job. Mr. KIBENI had demanded Kshs. 400,000 to finish the job. By today in the morning Mr Enoch had managed to secure Kshs. 203,500 for the job and was to settle the rest later.
Following investigations it was discovered that Mr. Kiben and Kinaro are conmen who have been preying on innocent Kenyans.
Yesterday KDF’s Captain Robert Kipkorir Mutai was arraigned before a court-martial at Langata Barracks to answer various charges of recruitment malpractices.
During the start of the recruitment drive on 15 November 2021 a young man was arrested in Malava, Kakamega County for attempting to bribe a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Officer in the ongoing countrywide recruitment drive.
The 23 year old potential recruit had written Ksh400, 000 on his palm an indication that he intended to offer that amount to the recruiting officer. The suspect was handed over to civil police.
KDF has reiterated that any form of corruption is not allowed in the recruitment exercise and that the process is free and fair to all eligible Kenyans.
