Nairobians access Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NCWSC) in Mathare slums

The ongoing road construction along the Nairobi Expressway Highway is the major reason behind the scheduled water supply disruption.

NCWSC will shut down the water supply pipeline from the Kabete Treatment plant, which supply city residents in Westlands, Parklands and around Prof Maathai Road.

Furthermore, the shutdown facilitates the interconnection of the pipelines disconnected along Waiyaki way road from the old Safaricom building, all the way to the junction of Waiyaki way road and Prof Wangari Maathai road, formerly known as Forest road. The estates will experience water disruption from 6.00 am on Thursday, September 9, to Friday, September 10.

The disruption will also affect city residents who Iive along Raphta road, Parklands road, Mpaka road, Chiromo lane, Manyani road and Church road.

Also affected are areas around Highbridge, Muguga Green Estate, Nairobi School, Kabete barracks, MP Shah Hospital, Sarit Centre and the surrounding estates.

NCWSC has appealed to the city residents who will be affected to use water sparingly during the interruption.

Furthermore, they have issued apologies for the inconvenience to the city residents.
