Mo Salah makes new demands for Liverpool contract.

Mohamed Salah has reportedly requested £500,000 a week to remain at Anfield, but that’s not all…

The Egyptian’s current contract expires in the summer of 2023 and talks are ongoing to tie him down to a new deal.

Jurgen Klopp remains confident his star man will sign soon, but Salah has now apparently made another bold request of the club.

Sky Germany claim the 29-year-old has asked the club to buy a new striker to play alongside him, to ensure they will continue to challenge for the top prizes.

Liverpool have been loosely linked with Erling Haaland, who is set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and Lille star Jonathan David, among others.

Klopp says he isn’t worried by the talks dragging on.

He told Sky Sports: “We are in really good conversations

“I want it to happen, but when? I couldn’t care less.”

Meanwhile, despite claims it could be postponed due to the pandemic, it’s been confirmed Salah will be out for Liverpool in January as the Africa Cup of Nations looks set to take place.

A statement read: “The president, Patrice Motsepe, held a meeting with the leader of Cameroon on Tuesday to focus on safety and the challenges presented with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The President of CAF Dr. Patrice Motsepe held a very constructive and fruitful meeting with the President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Mr. Paul Biya in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Tuesday, 21 December 2021.
