A security multi-agency (KDF) patrol team early this morning ambushed and killed five Al Shabaab terrorists and injured multiple others at a makeshift camp in Mangulo area, Lamu County.
During the highly classified intelligence led operation, the multi-agency team recovered two AK 47 rifles, food stuffs, one motorbike, radio batteries and assorted ammo.
It is reported that the operation is still ongoing with security officers in hot pursuit of the terrorists who escaped with injuries.
In the recent days, the security multi-agency effort has intensified its onslaught against Al Shabaab terrorists in the vast Boni forest under the Operation Amani Boni banner.
The terror group has lost fighters, equipment, weapons and ground both at its Kenyan hideouts and in Somalia following consistent attacks from security multi-agency teams in Boni, AMISOM troops and Somalia security agencies in Somalia.
Yesterday alone, Somalia National Army reported killing more than 70 Al Shabaab members in Middle Shabelle region inside Somalia.
Boni forest area residents have vowed to work with the Government and security agents to flush out Al Shabaab terrorists from their Kenya territories.
