It has emerged that only One Kenya Alliance movement Party member expressed desire to work with former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga.
According to details, this leader expressed his desire and readiness to work with the Orange Democratic Movement ODM party leader during their Tuesday’s six hour meeting in Nairobi.
The other three leaders have however noted that they can only work with Raila Odinga IF he agrees to play the second fiddle and join their alliance since this time round they will not be joining him.
“source revealed that although Gideon expressed readiness to work with Raila, the other three leaders were hesitant and only agreed to initiate talks with the ODM leader if he will be willing to join the coalition as an equal partner and not on his terms.”the Star reports.
This is a tough test for Raila Odinga who is believed to be ready to face the new coalition that is said to be preparing to be the third force in the political realism of the country.
Raila Odinga is said to be using president Uhuru Kenyatta to try and have the former National Super Alliance NASA co-principals work with him ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Uhuru, in a meeting with Ukambani leaders at State House recently, hinted that he was willing to support any of the Nasa principals in the next polls, if they unite.
There has also been growing debate that Raila could be the Handshake presidential candidate to wage battle with the DP.
However, Nairobi County senator Johnson Sakaja is said to have noted that Raila Odinga is a respectable politician who cannot be ignored since he is mature politically and he is a factor to be considered.
