President Farmajo of Somalia faces stiff opposition from Federal State Presidents over election

President Farmajo holds a closed-door meeting with Presidents of Puntland, Jubaland, Hirshabelle, Southwest, and Galmudug

Somalia Federal Government relationship with federal member states continue to widen. The state presidents denounced a meeting called by the FGS president Abdullahi Farmajo in Mogadishu which was scheduled to take place in July, instead the state presidents conveyed their meeting in Dhusamareb to discuss critical issues of Governance among them Election reforms a move that has forced the President and PM to join them.
Reports from the meeting states that no progress has been made in Dhusamareb since the president joined the leaders despite series of informal talks. FGS and FMS leaders are yet to narrow their difference over the key issue – one person one vote or indirect election.
