18 men donning ‘Sonko Rescue Team’ t-shirts were last night arrested and are currently detained at Muthaiga Police Station. The middle aged men were caught robbing residents in Pangani area of Nairobi. Muthaiga OCS said the police received tip-off and acted swiftly arresting them. The men did not resist arrest but kept telling the police that their father, Sonko, would bail them out regardless.
There are strong rumours that since NMS took over the operations of the city, the team dubbed, ‘Sonko Rescue Team’ have not been receiving their regular handouts from the governor and their March salaries have not yet been paid.
