Abuse is immoral actions or threats of actions that influence in a negative way another person. Abuse can affect anyone. It can happen in any kind of relationship like a friendship, romantic relationship or among family members. People first of all need to be taught what abuse is because some think that abuse is a love language

There are different types of abuse; physical, mental, emotional, financial, sexual, among others. Physical abuse is intentional bodily injury. Sexual abuse is nonconsensual sexual contact (any unwanted sexual contact). Mental mistreatment or emotional abuse is deliberately causing mental or emotional pain. Examples include intimidation, coercion, ridiculing, harassment, treating an adult like a child, isolating an adult from family, friends, or regular activity, use of silence to control behavior and yelling or swearing which results in mental distress.

People expected to protect you should not be abusive. We need to recognize someone’s trait before getting into a relationship with them. Your ability to adapt to change will keep you safe and moving. Decide if you are going to stay or walk away because you can never change anyone or force them to remain the same. Change has to come from within
