Three suspected kidnappers were on Friday afternoon arrested in Makenji area of Kandara, Murang’a County.
This came only hours after they abducted a 35-year-old woman in Toll estate of Juja sub-county.
The three are presently being held at the Juja Police Station while the rescued woman is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
Juja DCIO Richard Mwaura, confirming the incident, said they’re presently tracing two other male victims who the suspects had earlier on, prior to their arrest, reportedly thrown out of the moving vehicle.
“The suspects had already started asking for ransom and when we questioned the lady who was in captivity, she told us that there were two men who were bleeding in the car and they were thrown out of the speeding suspects’ vehicle,” he said.
According to Mwaura, alarm was raised at around 8am that a woman who was en route Nairobi was kidnapped by unknown men who sped off towards Thika town.
Upon receiving the report, DCI officers swung into action and were able to track down the suspects and place them into custody.
Police officers recovered six mobile phones and a blood-stained kitchen knife from the suspects’ vehicle.
The three are expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
